CA Law Review — Funeral Arranger Training

§7635 Inspection Checklist

Use this checklist to verify your funeral establishment's training documentation is ready for Bureau inspection.

This checklist is based on the requirements of California B&P Code §7635. It is provided as a practical tool — not legal advice. Consult the statute and your legal counsel for authoritative guidance.

  • Dated completion certificate for each person who arranges or sells funeral goods or services
  • Certificates are current (within the three-year retraining cycle)

  • Records identify each trained individual by full name
  • Records include dates of training completion

Staff Coverage

  • No gaps in training coverage for active arrangement staff
  • Departed employees' records retained per establishment policy
  • Any arranger approaching the 3-year renewal is scheduled for retraining
